It’s a wee bit gloomy outside today, at least at the moment, so I thought I’d post some bright, beautiful, cheerful flower pictures taken at Schloss Charlottenburg on a gorgeous, sunny late summer day last month. Enjoy! Oh, and don’t forget to read yesterday’s thank you to Berlin if you haven’t already done so.
As I’ve noted before, I especially love photographing flowers and playing with the focus. Something about the sharp focus in front and the blurred bright colors in the background completely appeals to my sense of beauty.

Capturing bees extracting nectar and pollen from flowers is another favorite shot, made all the more exciting because of the pure luck of seeing it happen when you have a camera in hand. Actually getting the shot is another matter all together. I have several “misses” besides these two relatively decent (though slightly blurred) shots. This bumblebee was huge!

Something about this shot captures my attention – the lone red rose standing tall and solitary among the white flowers
