I spent a lovely afternoon in the sun at Valley Forge National Historic Park on Sunday. I took some pictures of an occasional leaf or two and some lovely insects exploring around me. I’m very bad with identifying bugs but I think they were grasshoppers – I expect one of my readers will correct me if I’m wrong. Enjoy the pics and look for more once the foliage is more vibrant. (The last three pics are from the previous weekend at the park but worth the look.)
Today’s tip: you can make the pics larger by double-clicking on each image.

A different little guy exploring my smelly sneakers – an attraction for my cats and apparently for bugs too

Approaching my favorite spot in the park – just loved the sun rays – don’t know if its good photographic technique but I love how it turned out

Another shot of the moon over Mad Anthony – love the silhouetted look and just wish the moon were a bit bigger

Do you have a macro lens? Would love to see what you would do with that. Love the shots from the park – lots of great pics.
Although now that I think of it – you are shooting digital and you have a nice zoom lens- you can stand back and shoot macro subjects with a regular zoom lens. I’ve done that before and you’ll be surprised how good it comes out.
I use the macro setting on my camera for the close in shots – it works pretty well but I have thought of getting a macro lens but just haven’t yet. It would just let me get even closer in on subjects like flowers and insects…
