Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

The RBGE was a beautiful place. Lush green lawns, beautiful trees, plants and flowers, quiet and calm, an oasis within the city. And free entry as well!

My only complaint was that the two exhibits I most wanted to see, the Alpine Garden and the Queen Mother’s Memorial Garden, we’re closed when I was there, sigh. Even worse, I could see the Memorial Garden with a plethora of flowers just beyond the rope blocking access; but not photographable.

But still plenty of beautiful vistas throughout. Here are a few of my personal favorites, all shot on my iPhone. Enjoy!

Loved the unique look of this tree; I regret not noting it’s name, lol
Loved this very large hedgerow
The apples were aesthetically pleasing ; I can totally understand why they’d need to put up the sign (below)
Portrait mode produces some great shots; love how much this pink flower just pops right off the page
Beautiful arched opening in the hedgerow
Have never seen apple trees like this before
This little guy landed on my hand, explored a few seconds and then took off
The post would be incomplete without purple flowers
Volume up for the sound of running water
