Early Sunday evening after an enjoyable but long day of exploring around Prague (from the Jewish Quarter, to the river bank, across the Charles Bridge to Kampa Island, down to the Strelecky Ostrov and back), I was enticed by the sign outside this restaurant advertising beef chili goulash served in a warm bread bowl.
Of course there was seating outside but I chose to go inside as I had a puffy vest on (not my sleeved coat) and the evening had turned chilly after sunset.
The restaurant was charming with a music-themed decor, stone walls, bright lights, and brightly painted orange walls. There were also clean bathrooms, (always important when you’re out and about all day), hurray!
Though I looked at the menu, I went with the dish that lured me in, the beef chili goulash served in a warm bread bowl. It was utterly delicious.
I ate much of the bread bowl but got the rest wrapped up to take “home” so I could have dessert. I chose hot raspberries served with ice cream and whipped cream. I don’t usually eat much ice cream, but I’m on vacation and it was served with berries, so I had to! #noregrets
From the convenient location (along my wandering path), to the good service, the beautiful presentation of the food, the crispy bread edges, the goulash with a bit of kick (the “chili” part, I presume), to the delicious dessert, altogether another amazing, “off the beaten path” dining experience.
