Sailing with Lola

I took an evening cruise on the Margaret Todd yesterday. It was supposed to happen on Tuesday but thunderstorms in the region led to the cancellation of that sail.

No matter, though, because the weather was especially lovely on Wednesday evening. The thunderstorms had resulted in a significant lowering of the humidity. It was a perfect night for a schooner cruise.

But despite the beautiful weather, the absolute delight of the evening was one mixed-breed rescue dog who joined her two Canadian humans on board. Lola was an absolute sweetheart, very friendly and loving, bestowing doggy kisses and soulful gazes. Her male human had rescued her after she was abandoned in an old building in Montreal. (What is wrong with people who abandon animals? Seriously!)

The five of us who sat nearest her and her humans would have adopted her in a heartbeat. We all told them they’d have available dog-sitters in each of our states if ever they needed dog-sitters.

I hadn’t brought my ‘real’ camera but my trusty, soon-to-be-replaced-with-a-newer-model iPhone 7s worked perfectly. And was much lighter, lol!

Take a look for yourself. I dare you not to fall in love with Lola just from the pics…
